Gaming History
I've played far too many MMORPGs to count on two hands, and way too many games of other genres to even bother with. Ever since age 12 or so, I've spent more time plugged into a wall than is probably healthy for anyone. It all started with UO, which was amazing in its time. Probably the longest experience I had was with DAoC though. Two fairly solid years of that game, and I still feel the tug at the back of my stomach aching for more. I was fortunate enough to play the BEST character class ever created in any MMORPG, the Midgard Healer. If you ask me, nothing even comes close. Full on healing, every single bit of crowd control you could ask for, mana regen, cool epic armor, I loved my healer.
The only other character I played long enough to mention is probably my second favorite class of all time, which is the hibernian mentalist. AE dot, again mana regen and heals, stacking dot, nukes, even cooler epic, and the advantage of being a little ball of death that's only 2ft tall. Nobody sees you coming, but they feel it when you're there. I've played just about every other class there is too, in two years you have to. Still I've always made a point of avoiding the flavor of the month classes, cause its no fun to keep leveling new characters all the time instead of playing with friends you all ready have. Oh yeah, and cause healers are godlike as far as support classes go, flavor of the year!
I have a tendency to use bad proverbs from time to time to make excuses for stupid things I do. Also out of being a healer so long, I've grown acute rezzer reflexes, being the first to disappear the second things turn sour.
I have chosen Shadows Edge because many of the members seem to be from TLP (The Last Prophecy - Dark Age of Camelot), and I loved almost everything about TLP. If the members of SE are the kind of members TLP seems to have, then this guild looks like the right fit. Also the forum thread on guilds, "The good, the bad, and the ugly" was something I haven't seen from a guild leader before. I like the fact that you take an interest in how other guilds are run so that you can learn to better run your own. As far as being a good member goes, well I try to make the game fun for those I'm playing with, and I'm not one to start problems. Through two years of DAoC, my ignore list was non-existent, because I never had a problem that required me cutting anyone off. Aside from social aspects, I think I'm a skilled player as well. I take care to learn every possible piece of my character to more effectively play the game. Just being good at something is just fun for me. Finally I'm always up for a stupid idea if it sounds like even a little bit of fun.
