Comments: I would like to say before I begin that Ranger's are solely meant for grouping, we can only solo if the MoB is about 12 lvls below us or we completely overpower it. Once you reach high lvls you might be able to solo a little bit, but not nearly as efficient as you would need to. I will mention everything you will probably need to know about a Ranger and how to survive while playing one. |
Levels 1-4 (GFay Newbie Area) |
When you first log on your newly created Ranger you will pop onto a platform in the woodelf city known as Kelethin, this city is located high in trees so be careful when wandering around. The very first thing you want to do is click on your PERSONA button and equip your sword and DESTROY the Book of Order and Discord. Once you have done this, the next step is finding your guild. the Wood Elf Ranger Guild is called "Faydarks Champions". If this is your first time in Kelethin it may be difficult to find so i suggest getting a map although most maps of Kelethin are pretty funky. Once you have found the guild go to the back room and talk to any of the three wood elves standing here. Well, right click I should say, and begin your training. Since you dont get spells until lvl 9 you don't need to waste points in Channeling or Alteration as many otehr classes do. Start off by putting all 5 points into 1HSlashing, after this you can head out into the newbie area to start fighting.
You can go down either the PoD lift or the "Newbie" Lift, both of them will take you to the same general area. Both lifts also have 2 and sometimes 3 guards at them, remember this! This will save your life many times if you do, when you get into trouble run to them. When you first start off at level one only aim for bats, jsut bats. You'll ding 2 soon enough with this and then start killing bats, wolves, and maybe a wasp or two, be careful with the wasps though becase they swarm and can be very dangerous. Another danger of this fighting area is the random Orc Pawn that wanders by, he can easily kill you until you are lvl 3 or 4, so I would suggest steering clear of any of these that you see for now. Keep this up until you are lvl 3. Alright, so you're lvl 3 huh? Well it ain't over yet! Now you should be able to start killing 3 or 4 wasps at a time, MAYBE an Orc Pawn and quite possibly the widow hatchlings that pop sometimes. Just keep killing anything in your path until you hit lvl 4. |
