Character History and Personality

I spent about a half hour writing Milo de Vanderbeck\'s story down here only to have it munched by a session time out :/ I\'ll try again some other time. Milo de Vanderbeck has a sister that he only knows a rumor of. I can explain why later, but I\'m offering a roleplaying opportunity to a female human warrior. If you\'re interested in roleplaying and being an active part in the development of a story that has actually been going for some time, I think it\'d be great fun. Just send me a PM here, or we\'ll chat about it down the road. Cheers, Steve aka Milo de Vanderbeck (\"Van\" or \"Vanderbeck\" for short)

Gaming History

I started with D&D when I was 16 (25 years ago).

After many many PC games, I happened across Multi User Dungeons once I got on the Internet about 12 years ago. The Ancient Anguish LPMUD was my first Multi user online experience. I became a Mud \"wizard\" (content creator) there with this same name - Vanderbeck. Content creation on a MUD requires the ability to program. At the time, I had none, so I demoted myself back to mortal status.

My first graphical Multi user game was Ultima Online. While there I became a Senior Counselor for the Baja shard (player volunteer). I really wish WoW was going to have player volunteers because I love helping people, but being in a great guild can satisfy that desire, too.

Our \"shard\" (Ultima Online \'server\' or \'realm, if you will) leader got hired to run one section of the player volunteers of a new (at the time) game called Asheron\'s Call. Several of us followed her and became Sentinels there. Sentinels were basically like GMs with limited powers. Asheron\'s Call was the last real \"ooh\" and \"ah\" I recall experiencing from a game. Until the stress test, that is.

Since AC, I\'ve been waiting for that next great gaming experience. I think it\'s finally here.
