Shadows Edge Guild Charter

The Basics

Shadows Edge (SE) is a World of Warcraft Guild that was formed on September 15, 2003. The founders of SE seek to develop friendships with players who have common playing styles and online experiences. SE founders have years of experience playing stand-alone fantasy games, as well as massively multi-player online role playing games (MMORPG). Some of the games we have played are Diablo, Starcraft, Ultima Online, Everquest, Dark Age of Camelot, Star Wars Galaxies and many others.

Respect and Courtesy

SE is committed to creating a guild that is conducive to enjoyable game play based upon mutual respect and common courtesy. We are mature individuals who are seeking other mature players who wish to create an online community that is fair and appropriate to the game. One that allows all guild members the freedom to be themselves, yet display respect for others by what you say and do. SE believes in honesty and integrity and most of all we wish to have fun.

User License Agreement (ULA)

SE expects all guild members to follow the User License Agreement and not engage is any activity that takes away from another player’s enjoyment of the game. The use of common sense and fair play will control all of our guild decisions.

Cheating and Griefing

Cheating and Griefing will not be tolerated in any form. We hope that you play often, but will not impose an activity level. If and when SE joins an alliance, we expect you to show the same courtesy to alliance members as you do your own guild members. You should always treat all players with respect.

Conflict Management

All conflicts will be handled by the guild leadership. If you have an issue that needs to be discussed, please involve a guild leader in a personal chat session. Guild chat is for gameplay, not player or guild problems. Whenever you feel the need to resolve a problem, always use a personal chat session. Our phylosophy is that all members have the right to read and create guild chat messages.

However, if you abuse alliance or guild chat your ability to create chat messages will be removed temporarily until the issue is resolved. We would prefer to deal with these issues out-of-game because the guild leadership wants to play and enjoy the game as much as you do. Therefore, we will deal with conflicts through the forum and in icq chat out-of-game as much as possible.

Safe Haven

It is our intention that any public venue where a guild member can participate be a Safe Haven for all members. A Safe Haven means that regardless of the members age, sex, religion, or personal values, they will feel safe and protected by the guild. This means that guild members treat each other with respect. More clearly it means that you should never use bad language, tell dirty jokes, post pornagraphy and any image that someones mother would be offended by. We have guild members who are children, young adults, adults, and old timers. Our values vary and each member must respect and honor a fellow guild members values. If you have a need to swear, cus, tell dirty jokes and just cut loose, do so in a non-public chat channel. Please do not do these things in voice chat, our guild chat channel, our raiding channels or in our forums.

So to clarify, we are asking for your best behavior during guild activites and in our forums. We appreciate your support by creating a Safe Haven for all of our members.

Application Process

All guild members, except the guild founders obviously, will follow the same application process via our website and gain approval for membership.
